£33,000 Age UK cheque being presented

£33,000 raised at the Isle of Wight’s largest Garden Fair will stay on the Island to support older residents

The Island’s largest Garden Fair returned for one of their most successful weekends yet.

The 22nd fair, hosted over 170 Island and mainland nursery, garden and craft exhibitors, Elizabethan re-enactment & dancing, live falconry displays, dogs shows, magic shows, live music, military vehicle and engine displays kayaking around the moat and much more.

The Wolverton Manor Garden Fair committee were delighted to present a cheque to local charity Age UK Isle of Wight for £33,000 at a thank you coffee morning for all of their hard working volunteers that supported the weekend.

Age UK Isle of Wight
Age UK Isle of Wight provides free and impartial information and advice, welfare benefit advice, dementia care navigation, digital inclusion, help around the home, restorative justice, crisis and community support through their Hospital Project at St Mary’s and also befriending through our award winning Good Neighbour Scheme.

100 per cent of the funds raised from the fair will stay on the Island, directly supporting  Age UK Isle of Wight’s Good Neighbour Scheme to continue to provide vital companionship to those with no one to turn to.

Patterson: The money will be put to good use
Jane Patterson, AgeUKIW Patron said,

“We are delighted with the amount raised this year. The money will be put to good use, providing older Islanders who have no one else to turn to, with vital help and support.

“Thank you so much to all of our volunteers and to everyone that attended making this our most successful show to date.”
