This weekend (13th/14th June) sees a very special anniversary of the Britten-Norman Islander.
The 50th anniversary of the first flight of the Britten-Norman Islander will be celebrated at Bembridge Airport.
It’ll be a chance to see the fully-restored fuselage of the world’s oldest surviving Islander on display outside the Propeller Inn (only the third one ever built).
Lots to see and do
As well as that, there will be fly-ins and an Islander flypast.
Everyone is welcome, especially if you have a link to this remarkable aircraft.
The event takes place between 11am and 4pm. Full details over on Events OnTheWight.
