It’s that time of year again when Healthwatch Isle of Wight is asking Isle of Wight residents to complete their priority survey.
The survey consists of a list of the top 18 most common health or care themes that have been reported to Healthwatch Isle of Wight over the past 12 months, such as GP services, community pharmacies and dentistry and Healthwatch asks that people choose their top 3 priorities. The priorities that receive the highest number of votes will become the next areas that Healthwatch Isle of Wight will begin to work on.
Healthwatch IW’s role
There are many changes and challenges within the health and care sector at the moment and Healthwatch play an important role in ensuring the public can influence the commissioning and delivery of these services.
As a result of last year’s survey, Healthwatch Isle of Wight has continued their work on Accessible Information, leading to the development of a Hampshire and IOW regional group, established to share good practice and improve information and communication with people who have communication needs.
Healthwatch Isle of Wight is also continuing to highlight the plight of people who do not have access to an NHS dentist and are working with commissioners to get more NHS dental appointments available on the Island.
Joanna Smith, Healthwatch Isle of Wight Manager, said,
“This survey will ensure that the voices of the Isle of Wight people are heard.
“With the significant pressures on health and social care services this year, it has never been more important for people to share their experiences and have a say in how services are delivered and improved.”
Complete the survey
The survey is open now and will run until 31st March 2025.
