Freshwater Parish Council would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to The Hut Restaurant, Colwell, for their generous donation of £500 towards the upkeep of the Colwell Bay Buoys.
The donation from The Hut Restaurant will go directly towards the maintenance, laying and retrieving of the buoys and any future replacement buoys, ensuring that the safe swimming area continues to be accessible to all. The ongoing care of the buoys is an important initiative for the Parish Council, as it contributes significantly to the well-being and safety of the community and its visitors.
Swimmers and other beach users were at risk from powered craft such as speedboats and jet-skis, and other fast-moving watercraft including windsurf and kite surfing boards which use the bay.

Freshwater Parish Council was granted planning permission in 2021 for the buoys in Colwell Bay and are licensed by the Marine Management Organisation, Trinity House and the Crown Estate.
