A Dozen Cellists To Play Concert in Niton

If you have a love for the sound of the cello, then these two charity concert will be right up your street.

A Dozen Cellists To Play Concert in NitonThe first takes place this Wednesday in St Lawrence Parish Church.

It features James and Sally Halsey, aka The Halsey Duo, and they’ll be playing from 7.30pm with a retiring collection for the Hospice.

One not enough?
The other concert is a little more unusual as it features a dozen cellos.

Yes, a dozen cellos!

The cellists, from all over the UK and the Island, have been working with James Halsey.

The nucleus of the group consists of James’ pupils, some currently at music college, some pre and post music college, but also includes a few older, gifted amateur cellists.

They share with James a love of playing together and will present an entertaining variety of pieces from composers from the Renaissance like Gabrielli, to French romantic Faure, Barber’s famous Adagio, right through to fun, jazzy present day music.

This takes place at Niton Primary School on Sunday 29th August from 6.30pm and once again is free entry with a returning collection.
