There’s a slight mystery that surrounds the Bembridge fort walk near St Helens each year – that being the exact date of it changes from year to year.
It is only possible when the tides are at their lowest, as – and this is the attraction of the event – those who take part walk through the sea to reach the Fort, normally out to sea.
The approach is either from Bembridge or St Helens.
The appeal from the Safety Advisory Group is to not put yourselves, volunteers and emergency services at risk by attempting the St Helens Fort Walk this weekend
