Racing has taken place in China’s Olympic sailing city Qingdao, for Act 3 of this year’s Extreme Sailing Series not only for the points in the series but the Land Rover ‘Double Star Mingren’ Cup.
While other ocean races are longer, racing 1,800 miles around a coastline notorious for highly changeable weather, tides and currents, puts the race amongst the most difficult to complete, let alone win. It starts from Cowes this Sunday.
Congratulations to the crew on Oman Sail who smashed a World Record after sailing around Britain and Ireland in just three days and three hours. Watch out for others competing in the race passing the Island today.
