Ventnor Film Society was founded in 2006 by John and Mary Salisbury, with screenings taking place at the Ventnor Botanic Garden.
As the screenings became more popular the venue switched to the main hall at the Ventnor Winter Gardens. After that was closed by the Isle of Wight council, for a while screenings took place at the form St Boniface School.
Later it switched to the Ventnor Arts Club, where it remains.
The Film Society is supported by an enthusiastic group of volunteers.
