The baby boom is the product of a colony of 300 oysters introduced to Wightlink’s terminal at Lymington as part of ongoing work with scientists at the Blue Marine Foundation, the University of Portsmouth and University of Southampton
Wightlink provide ferry services to the Isle of Wight. They operate car ferry services from two Island ports, Yarmouth and Fishbourne, as well as a foot passenger services from the end of the pier in Ryde.
Wightlink’s Yarmouth car ferry lands in Lymington. The other two services land in Portsmouth.
The ferry service was bought by Australian-based investment bank, Macquarie, in 2005 for just over £230m.
