Earlier this year, residents had the chance to share their views on the proposed Aldi branch adjacent to Lake’s Spithead Business Centre.
According to Aldi, 83% of the 525 responses to the planning application were supportive of the scheme.
The plans have now been approved by the Isle of Wight council.
Warner: “Delighted”
Aldi property director, Phillip Warner, said,
“We are delighted that planning officers have taken the decision to approve this application, as we believe there is a real need to see improved customer choice and competition in the area.
“Our plans have been overwhelmingly well-received locally and we’d like to thank those who provided us with their feedback and made their support known to the council.”
