Congratulations are in order for Alice Armfield from Cowes, who this week was named by the Association of Colleges (AoC) as Student Photographer of the Year 2015.
Alice, now a student at Portsmouth University, was shortlisted in the national award for work she completed during her time as a student at the Isle of Wight College.
Stiff competition
The theme for the competition was ‘What Matters Most’ and against very stiff competition (there are some very talented young photographers out there) Alice’s work impressed the judges to win her the top spot.
The competition was judged by Michael Pritchard, Director General of Royal Photographic Society.

CEO: “A very high standard”
Martin Doel, Chief Executive of the Association of Colleges, said:
“This year’s entries were of a very high standard with a great sense of creativity and imagination. Alice’s image is well-composed and captures what matters most to the subjects in the photo.”
Well done Ali, anyone looking through your Tumblr will be able to see that your passion for photography shines through.
