The Isle of Wight has a great record for volunteering and The British Heart Foundation (BHF) are hoping that their appeal for help will bring good results to the Island.
They are on the look-out for a number of people to fill key roles to help an appeal to secure a vital piece of coronary diagnostic equipment for St Mary’s Hospital.
The hope is to raise enough cash to fund the purchase of an Echocardiogram machine. This provides a totally non invasive and no risk means of diagnosing vital heart disease traits, including those of coronary arteries, valves and holes in the heart.
Working with the Fundraising Volunteer Manager, Mary Bareham, volunteers are sought who can project-manage certain elements of the appeal.
These include fronting media relations, leading the public launch, masterminding the flagship fundraising event, and managing corporate partnerships and individual sponsorship.
Alternatively you could just help with the events that are already set up such as the Cycle the Wight or place a collection tin in your local area or workplace.
No amount of time is too small.
If you have spare time and the right experience why not help out.
