Tonight sees the first public meeting of the new Ventnor Town Council (note new start time of 7pm) take place at the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
Our new Town Council is made up of some new blood as well as old favourites including David George (Bonchurch), Buster Bartlett and Doug Nettleton (St Lawrence), Rob Mew and Steve Stubbings (Lowtherville), Joan Garlick, Brian Lucas and Chris Welsford (Ventnor East) and Graham Perks, Susan Scoccia and Debby Robinson (Ventnor Parish West Ward).
As always the public are very welcome to attend and even allowed 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting to ask questions.
The Annual Meeting of the Town Council will be covering formal items such as setting the budgets, nominating the new mayor, appointing committees, etc but also includes a letter from the Head of Engineering Services regarding highway issues.
Committees
Following this, there will be short meetings of the Grants, Winter Gardens, Risk Assessment and Planning Committees. We say short, because they will simply be appointing the chairman and approving minutes of previous meetings. The Plans Committee will also consider any planning applications that may’ve been lodged since the last meeting.
Where and when?
As usual the meeting will be held in the lower meeting room – accessible from the rear of the Winter Gardens.
Please note the new time though. The meeting now starts are 7pm.
