As we’ve mentioned before on VB, this Friday sees the return of the Go Yellow Day.
An event aimed at raising awareness and money for the Hospice, we’re told that many businesses and organisations have already signed up, revealing what they’ll be doing to help the cause.
A bicycle built for two
Leader of the Isle of Wight council, David Pugh will be taking to Newport’s streets on a tandem this Friday. We wonder who’ll he’ll be sharing ‘the bicycle built for two’ with.
Other council staff will be wearing yellow to show their support for the Hospice on the day.
Trolley dash across the Island
Arreton Barns, The Bargeman’s Rest and The Steamer Inn are pushing the trolley out with a ‘Go Yellow’ Trolley Dash between the three venues! They’ll be setting off from The Bargeman’s, heading to The Steamer Inn via Arreton Barns.
Farmhouse Fayre in St James St, Newport have been holding raffles and collections for the past few weeks, including raffling off an Isle of Wight Festival ticket, and have so far raised over £700! Pop in and see them on ‘Go Yellow Day’ and join in the fun.
Scooping yellow
Staff at Morrisons in Newport and Tescos will be holding ‘Go Yellow’ collections, with Tesco also providing music, entertainment and a visit from The Ice Cream Plaza van who will be scooping out Yellow ice-creams for donations. Good on you Gary!
If you pop into Boots in Ryde and Freshwater on Friday, you’ll see the staff donning Yellow and also collecting donations for patient care.
Many other businesses and organisation around the Island will be showing their support.
Do let us know what you get up to.
