We hear from Island 2000 (thanks Hannah) that a week on Saturday at Dimbola Lodge, there will be a new range of unique and specially commissioned donation boxes on display to the public.
Six artists; Anne Bodemeaid, Michael Forrest (who of course featured in last weekends VentnorBlog Presents … exhibition), Gemma Bell, Miranda Amapola, Jeff Dyson and Chris Jenkins were all presented with blank wooden donation boxes and given the task of redesigning them.
The boxes came from Vestas as part of an ‘Arts & Business’ supported project. You might recognise the A&B name from a previous project of theirs that we highlighted lats year.
The result is a wonderful array of inventive and novel designs that will hopefully encourage the public to donate to Gift To Nature.
We also hear that those who organised the project at Island 200 were inspired to design their own boxes which will also be on display.
You can find all the boxes in the tearoom of Dimbola Lodge and they’ll be there for a further week before heading to the tourism offices and other Island businesses.
