In 2009, it won’t just be on the site of the Isle of Wight Festival where UFOs might be spotted.
As the first news site to report rumours last Thursday of the Bestival 2009 fancy dress theme being all things inter-galactic, we now have the official confirmation from Bestival top man, Rob Da Bank.
The fancy dress theme normally gets revealed around the month of May, but this time we’re getting at least nine months to design and create the most outlandish of outfits yet.
We’re guessing there’ll be plenty of unusual aliens, astronauts, Barberella babes, not to mention countless characters from Bladerunner, Star Wars, Space Odyssey etc.
Or if you were the person with $126,500 last year, you might be turning up in the original Alien costume designed by HR Giger
Here’s what Rob had to say on the matter ….
“It’s only been 3 months since we peeled off our underwater outfits at Bestival 2008 but we’ve had so many requests to get on and announce the theme for 2009 that we gave in!
After heavy consultation with our ever busy forum and due to the fact that next year is the 40th anniversary since Man landed on the Moon, it’s going to be a Space theme – Bestival 2009: A Space Oddity.
So get needle and thread out, dig out the dressing up box and prepare for lift off!”
