Bestival 2010: Zoltan Tells Fortunes and Raises Cash (podcast)

Continuing on our series of Bestival 2010 articles, next up is an interview with possibly one of the best-dressed festival-goers we met last month.

Bestival 2010: Zoltan Tells Fortunes and Raises Cash (podcast)Zoltan the Interactive Vending Machine was a sight to behold, not only because of his excellent home made costume, but also the service he was providing and the motivation behind it.

In between telling fortunes, we managed to catch Zoltan for a few minutes to find out more about his costume and what he was up to.

It turns out that Zoltan (aka Huxley Hunt) was reading fortunes in return for donations to a very worthy cause.

Memorial bench for Jake
Earlier in the year, his friend, Jake Cole had tragically died whilst in India. Huxley felt it would be fitting to collect donations to put towards a memorial bench for Jake and swiftly pulled together the Zoltan costume after a quick bit of ‘fantasy fancy dress’ online research.

His entire costume was hand-made and in return for passing his interactive hand with silver, Bestival-goers could hear their fortune.

Huxley managed to raise a whopping £67.76 over the weekend by dishing out hand-written personal fortunes for around 50 people.

What else did he do?
So when he wasn’t handing out fortunes, you’re probably wondering what Zoltan (aka Huxley Hunt) got up to?

I had a wicked weekend … I got a cut-throat razor shave, a massage from Amy in the Pamper Lounge, made a mosaic mushroom, saw the outstanding Tesla Coil men (lords of Lightning) and MC Zander, Beardyman, met Andrew Maxwell, Rufus Hound and Colin Campbell … plus heaps of friends, old and new.

Listen to podcast to hear the man himself. He’s to be saluted!
