Amy Winehouse has been confirmed as the Saturday headline act at Bestival this year.
The nueva-Soul Diva played Isle of Wight Festival last year, but we’d imagine the Bestival would be far more her type of thing – it being a looser atmosphere.
She clocked up ‘f.i.v.e gold rings’ (well five grammys) in 2006 for Back to Black (see vid below). She’s been Best New Artist, had Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
There were a fair old few ‘Amy’s at Bestival last year so we wonder whether we’ll all be doing second takes as we walk through the crowds this year … “Is she? Isn’t she” It’s 1975 and the harmony hairspray ad all over again.
We’re not sure how she got hooked up with Mark Ronson , but it was clearly the best decision she’s ever made.
She’ll be wishing she was born a week earlier and able to celebrate at Bestival, because she’ll be reaching the grand old age of 25 on the 14th September.
Ooooh, it’s enough to make you feel really old – until you go to Bestival that is!
Other festivals she’s at this year – current plans at least — are V Festival, Oxegen in Ireland and T in the Park.
