Bestival-goers are set to travel with ease before and after their weekend under canvas this year – thanks to a bespoke shuttle bus service taking them right up to the festival gates.
Isle of Wight operator Southern Vectis is running shuttle buses from the ferry ports to the Bestival site on Thursday 8 September and Friday 9 September, before making return trips throughout the night on Sunday 11 September, until the last person leaves the following Monday.
Ready to go when you are
Visitors can enjoy the weekend reassured their transport will be ready to go when they are. And with buses running frequently, connecting with every ferry at Ryde, East Cowes, Cowes and Yarmouth, customers can save their queuing for the Portaloos and beer tents.
From Thursday and throughout the weekend until Monday a frequent shuttle will run from Newport (Church Litten) direct to and from Bestival running until 2am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
All ports covered
Special Bestival shuttle stops are being installed at Newport, Ryde, Cowes, East Cowes and Yarmouth ports, so passengers will know exactly where to go.
Matt Kitchin, general manager of Southern Vectis, said,
“We have worked closely with festival organisers to offer safe, convenient and frequent transport to and from the arena so visitors can enjoy the event without having to worry how they’re going to travel the last leg of their trip.
“Our popular festival shuttle buses have been fine-tuned over the years, serving longer hours and with more vehicles, more space for luggage and easier accessibility.
“We’ve taken on board any ideas from customers on how to make this unique service even better. We’re bringing more drivers over to the Island, and there will be more staff to help customers load and unload.”
