Lily Allen’s “LDN” has been described as “an absolutely bliss-inducing calypso-ska number that’s every bit as sunny and shimmering as the Kinks’ Sunny Afternoon. That sounds like a pretty good accolade to me and will have me heading straight to the stage Lily Allen will be playing from at this years Bestival.
Pipped to be the soundtrack of the summer, it won’t be long before you find yourself humming along to ‘LDN’ or ‘Smile’ (especially after watching the video).
There have been discussions on our house as to whether her music is derivative or a rip off of The Streets, but either way, I love the honesty of the lyrics and the music is swinging my hips.
She’s got a ton of gigs over the coming months, and will be playing The Big Chill as well as our very own Bestival.
