Whilst we’re on the subject of funding, we also hear that the Isle of Wight Community Renaissance Festival taking place on the Island this spring has just been awarded financial support from the Big Lottery Awards for All scheme.
The festival, now in its second year, take place at Smallbrook Stadium at the end of May and Oakfield & Elmfield Partnership who are integral to the organisation conform that the partnership has received enough funding from Awards for All for hire of marquees, licences, first aid, PA equipment, transport and insurance.
What a great result.
The charity fundraising event last year collected a whopping £3,000 for Island charities, with all participants, entertainers, musicians and crew giving their time freely.
This year charities to benefit will include Ryde East Community Association, Isle of Wight Lions groups and Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
