Book now for tonight’s screening of Danish Film, A Hijacking

Ventnor Film Society has 12 seats available still for tonight’s screening of A Hijacking.

The 15 certificate film features Pilou Asbæk, the press officer from Borgen.

A Danish cargo ship heading for harbour is hijacked by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. Among the hostages are Mikkel the cook and the engineer Jan.

With the demand of over a million dollars in ransom a tense drama unfolds as the CEO of the shipping company takes responsibility for the negotiations with the pirates.

We move between the confined world of the crew, driven crazy by terror, boredom, heat and hunger and the pressures of the corporate world of sharp suits and limousines.

The film starts at 7.30 prompt. Latecomers will not be admitted. All tickets £5 on the door

Did you get a chance to ask about progress on Ventnor? I doubt they will hit their target of December – the signs mentioning this disappeared when the hoarding was changed and it has slowed down a lot since the old building was removed.
