Iconic car Bumblebee from the hit film Transformers will be driving around the Isle of Wight today! (Friday 23 May).
The black and yellow Chevrolet Camero 6.2 litre V8 will be on the 10:00 Wightlink ferry from Portsmouth, returning at 18:00 from Fishbourne. It will visit Ryde Pier, home of Wightlink’s catamarans at 11:30 then tour the Island, including the world-renowned dinosaur coast.
Age of Extinction
The amazing movie star car is on the Island as part of the promotion for the new Transformer movie Age of Extinction, featuring Dinobots for the first time. The fourth in the popular series will open in cinemas on 27 June.
Wightlink Head of Marketing Mark Persad said,
“We’ve carried all kinds of vehicles to and from the Isle of Wight over the years but we’ve never shipped a Transformer!
“Last year’s big movie was all about dinosaurs, in 2014 everyone’s going to be talking about Dinobots.”
Bumblebee is an Autobot (one of the good guys) from the Transformers movies and the main character alongside Optimus Prime. Sadly the car will not be transforming while on the Island.
