Thanks to On The Wight reader Isabella Joyner for getting in touch with news of a mishap in Merstone that may cause a problem for local residents today.
She told us, “Just in Merstone and Southern Vectis just took out 3-4 telephone lines…panic is ensuing I’m sure!”
Judging from the photo Isabella sent us, it looks as though the bus hit a telegraph pole bringing the lines down – you can see them coiled on the road in the left hand side of the image.
