When the Ventnor Town Council community team were clearing up after the Ventnor Day celebrations earlier this week, a rather strange discovery was made.
Tony McCarthy got in touch with OnTheWight, hoping our readers might be able to shed some light on this mystery.
He said,
“As the field was being cleared someone found this statue on the sundial.
“The statue is about a foot tall and inscribed ‘Jesus Portant Sa Croix ‘ – Laurent.”
Tony and the team have no idea who left the statue there or why.
He says the original of the statue is in a museum in Montreal. Perhaps that is a clue?
If you happen to know who the statue belongs to (perhaps it was purchased from one of the stalls and left in error?) then get in touch.
