The Post Office will open a new-style Post Office ‘local’ service at Binstead Post Office, 10 Binstead Hill, Ryde, PO33 3RR, on Tuesday 3 March at 1pm.
Service will be provided at a combination counter, where the Post Office terminal will sit beside the retail till instead of a separate screened counter.
The Post Office needs to close for refurbishment on Saturday 21 February at 5.30pm, however, the store will remain open. Alternative Post Office branches include:
- High Street Post Office, 43 High Street, Ryde, PO33 2RE
- Ryde Post Office, 47-48 Union Street, Ryde, PO33 2LF
Opening hours will be: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 7am – 9pm; Wednesday and Saturday: 7am – 7.30pm; Sunday: 8am – 6pm.
Major improvements
There will also be major improvements to the retail including new lighting, new chiller unit and a wider range of fresh food and groceries.
Customers will still be able to access a range of Post Office and mails services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals. Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can pay bill, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
David Gold, Post Office Area Manager, said:
“We know how important Post Office services are to residents in Binstead and we are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular. The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.”
