If you’ve had a concessionary bus pass for the last five years, you might not have realised that it’s due for renewal next month.
Previously these were renewed automatically, but we understand that this has now changed.
The council say that “to avoid the risk of issuing renewed photo passes to deceased pass holders (which could cause distress to relatives) we have decided that concessionaires will need to request renewal (either by phone, letter, email, internet or via a Council Help Centre).”
In case pass holders don’t notice the pass expiry date, they say they have decided that passes will remain valid for one month after expiry. All bus services, including community ones have been informed of the extension.
If you have a bus pass that is due for renewal contact the Council and help out any friends who might be in the same position by sharing this news.
