Following refusal last year of the planning application to site three large wind turbines on Cheverton Down, we hear (thanks Stewart) that an appeal has finally been lodged by the applicant.
Cornwall Light and Power have instructed large law firm, Eversheds, to act on their behalf for the appeal to the Planning Inspectorate.
The application (ref: TCP/21144/E, P/00021/09) was rejected by the Isle of Wight council (IWC) planning committee last December on the grounds that the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) was unsuitable position for a wind farm.
A law firm with Eversheds’ reputation doesn’t come cheap, so we expect that Cornwall Light and Power will consider their money to be well spent.
