Regular VB readers will remember photographer Chris Jones from previous articles on VB.
Tonight sees his first exhibition at Quay Arts open.
‘Gardens’ is a body of work spanning two years and will be running in the Rope Store Gallery until 5th November.
An intriguing mix of photographic imagery, illustrative and digital elements, this collection largely derives from a deep personal drive to find nuances of beauty in the darker themes of life.
In particular are themes of trauma, disturbance and disharmony alongside lighter tones of love, perception, and heartbeats.
The title, Gardens is representative of Chris’ artistic moniker, Chemical Gdns. ; to mean the chemistry of the mind translating the undulating gardens of the soul.
Preview takes place between 6pm-7pm tonight at Quay Arts.
