Best of luck to blind Island man Colin McArthur, who in less than 20 minutes will be taking the controls of a Britten-Norman Islander aircraft to raise funds and awareness for the charity RP Fighting Blindness.
Bembridge Airport is the location for take off at 10.30 this morning.
Colin said “as a young lad of 14 I was partially sighted and was at the Farnborough Air Show in the mid 60’s where the Islander was unveiled; it stole the show. I am now registered blind through RP and am thrilled that Britten-Norman are giving me the opportunity to fly the Islander in my efforts to restore my sight in my lifetime.”
