OnTheWight reader, Emma Theunissen, has been in touch with an appeal for help from readers.
She shares the sad news that someone has stolen a charity collection tin from Bonchurch old post office. The tin is used for the sale of duck food in return for donations towards a charity raising money for research into Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Emma says the condition cruelly took her young cousin, Alex.
Emma told us,
“We are sorry to hear that a AHF collection tin has today been stolen from outside Alex’s Auntie Brenda’s house in Bonchurch, Isle of Wight. Brenda collects donations in return for bags of food that passers by purchase to feed the ducks on the pond opposite.
“From the number of bags sold during the day the tin would have contained around £20.
“Brenda is obviously devasted by this so if anyone has any information who may have carried out the cowardly act, please get in touch. Thank you.”
Call Emma on (01983) 329160 if you know anything.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so through the Alex Hulme Foundation website.
