We know there are lots of accomplished, as well as budding, musicians out there reading VentnorBlog, so we thought we’d run a little pre-Christmas competition to test out your music reading skills.
Hopefully you will have just read the article below by Faziloi, which charts some of the history behind the excellent collection of sheet music and books at Ventnor Library.
We used a crop of some sheet music to illustrate the article, but what was it?
The music is displayed in full below. Why not try to play it on your piano or guitar and see if you recognise the music?
The first correct entry bags themselves either an first generation iPod shuffle (pictured in the green box above) or the Samsung Music Player (in a rather fetching flamingo pink) and have decent storage capacity.
Both are brand new, never opened, so would make great Christmas presents.
Just to be clear, you don’t have to live in Ventnor to enter, we’re read widely on the Wight and welcome entries from all over.
To enter, add a comment to this article with your guess of what the piece of music is. Read the terms and conditions below first.
Terms and conditions:
Only one entry per person
Valid email address must be entered
Do not give out your home address or telephone number
No cash alternative
Judge’s decision is final
