Compton Bay has been rated as the seventh best British beach by travel writers at The Telegraph.
Appearing online yesterday, the Top 20 feature says of Compton Bay,
“A rural and unspoilt stretch of coast caught between the English Channel and the grassy downs of West Wight. Walk south to Brook Bay at low tide and you may find ancient dinosaur tracks revealed on the foreshore, or spot fossils in the crumbling cliffs. Access from the clifftop car parks (National Trust) is by steep wooden steps.”
The feature goes on to recommend places to eat, stay and visit.
Thanks to Seb for the headsup.
