Validated GCSE results for 2015 have been released today (Thursday) by the Department of Education.
Most schools saw improvements, with schools such as Carisbrooke seeing a 183% improvement. However, some other schools saw their percentages drop considerably.
They show the Isle of Wight is still several percentage points below the national average.
The validated results
The national average for pupils achieving 5+ A*-C GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and maths is 53.8% for all schools or 57.1% for state funded schools only whereas the average for the Isle of Wight is 47.6%.
