As we approach the peak of a glorious British summer, what better way to bask in the joy of the season than joining a community event that promises both fun and learning?
Newport Primary School warmly invites you to their inaugural farmers’ market, taking place this Friday (14th July) between 2pm and 5pm.
All are heartily encouraged to attend this novel gathering that promises an unforgettable afternoon in the company of local farmers and food producers.
Experience the farm to table journey first-hand
As you meander through the sunny field, you’ll find more than just a showcase of fresh, locally-grown produce. This event aims to bring the fascinating journey of ‘farm-to-table’ to life, offering children an insightful glimpse into where their food actually originates.
It’s an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of local agriculture, with the hope of instilling a deep appreciation for the Island’s dedicated food producers.
A vibrant display of talent and Island culture
However, the market isn’t merely about produce. An eclectic mix of attractions, from artists and musicians to tractors and animals, will transform this farmers’ market into a vibrant microcosm of Island life.
Immerse yourself in a live canvas of art, music, and rural charm, turning an ordinary Friday afternoon into an extraordinary community experience.
Supporting charities and farmers in need
The spirit of generosity will be as abundant as the fresh produce on display. All money raised at the event will be donated to two significant organisations.
The Farming Community Network (FCN) and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Fund (RABI), are both dedicated to supporting farmers and their families during challenging times.
A meaningful summer gathering
So, mark your calendars and gather your family and friends for an idyllic summer afternoon at Newport Primary’s first farmers’ market.
It’s a chance to celebrate the Island’s local produce, indulge in some fun activities, and support noble causes, all within the convivial atmosphere of a community gathering.
Where and when
Newport Primary School look forward to welcoming you on Friday, 14th July from 2pm to 5pm at Hazel Close, Newport PO30 5GD.
After all, nothing says summer quite like a bustling farmers’ market on a sunny afternoon.
