Conservative Budget Proposals Voted Through

The full council meeting tonight lasted a mammoth five hours as councillors discussed and voted upon five separate budget proposals or amendments.

First the Independent budget proposal was discussed and voted upon with 14 councillors for, 20 against and three abstaining.

Next up was the Liberal Democrat proposal which saw 10 councillors vote in favour, 23 against and four abstaining.

Rejections continue
This was followed by the Labour budget which saw nine vote in favour, 23 against and four abstaining.

The amendment to the Waterside Pool proposals was also voted down with 13 for the plans, 19 against and Cllr White and Cllr Peacey Wilcox abstaining.

Finally the Conservative budget proposal was voted on. This received 19 votes in favour, 11 against and Cllr White and Cllr Peacey Wilcox once again abstaining.
