The future of The Gouldings and The Adelaide resource centres will be discussed by the Cabinet when they meet on Tuesday 10th May.
A report being presented to other Cabinet members outlines proposals for the next stage of adult social care consultations.
The report states that particular emphasis will be placed on the involvement of the community, including:
- reviewing the provision of day and respite care for older people in the community to include Adelaide and Gouldings and with a particular focus on the communities in and around Ryde and Freshwater
- identifying the need and future aspirations of older people
- clarifying the key outcomes which we need to secure
- investigating the options for providing more effective support to older people in the community to meet those outcomes
- making recommendations for the way forward
- proposed timescales
Following the review, a consultation and full Equality Impact Assessment, the final decision will be made by Cabinet in January 2012.
