Cowes Fringe: Join the celebration of diverse talent – Hosted in unique venues throughout the town

This first-ever dynamic fringe event in Cowes will deliver an explosion of art and culture through performances and workshops this May.

Hosted in unique venues throughout the town, Cowes Fringe guarantees a memorable weekend extravaganza of entertainment for all ages. Our mission is to build on and enrich a thriving community spirit, encouraging local businesses and hospitality to become involved in a broad celebration of diverse talent.

Managed by a local team and supported by a West End team, the Cowes Fringe promises a broad range of local and mainland talent for the first time.

The fist acts to be announced, more to follow, include:

Claire Sweeney
One of the UK’s favourite actresses, from her early days on Brookside to her stellar career which has spanned stage and screen. Claire closes the Fringe with a gala evening singing songs and telling stories from throughout her career accompanied by West End pianist Jae Alexander.

Claire said,

“I am honoured to be taking part in the inaugural Cowes Fringe and can’t wait to be on the Isle of Wight for the first time.”

Alfie Moore
His popular BBC Radio 4 Comedy series IT’S A FAIR COP is the perfect vehicle for Alfie to skilfully blend succinct layman explanations about the law, with very funny anecdotes from his own policing experiences.

Steve Tiplady, as Geppetto, uses the objects of a carpenter’s workshop to tell the tale of the puppet that wants to be a real boy and the puppet maker who wants to be a real father. Direct from a sold-out season at the Little Angel Puppet Theatre London. This is a family show from age 4 upwards.

Jim Vision
A visionary artist and painter of large-scale murals whose personal drive has changed the face of walls in East London since 2005 and a leading protagonist of contemporary street art culture. Jim will do public events at two secret locations.

Mig Kimpton
Has run West End theatres and managed tours for an assortment of stars, especially Sir Ian McKellen.

Now an award-winning floral artist, Mig makes his first appearance on the Isle of Wight drawing his inspiration from all things connected with the seaside and telling theatrical tales.
