Creative Events Assistant placement opens for young Isle of Wight creatives

New Carnival is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity in partnership with Artswork’s ‘Breakthrough Programme’.

We are offering a six-month, paid Creative Events Assistant placement designed to be the first stepping stone into a vibrant career in the creative industries. This opportunity is part of a broader initiative to provide training and work placement schemes across the South East.

Calling 16 to 24-year-olds
The placement, which begins on 23rd September 2024, is aimed at young people aged 16-24 who have not yet pursued Level 5 education (such as foundation or university studies post-sixth form or college).

We are actively encouraging applications from individuals who are neurodivergent, have disabilities, have experienced mental health challenges, or who may have lost confidence and are struggling with interview processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for any aspiring creatives with skills in art and design, media, performing arts, and music.

Position Details:

  • Role: Creative Events Assistant
  • Duration: 6 months (starting 23rd September 2024)
  • Working Hours: 4 days a week
  • Key Responsibilities: The selected candidate will work closely with the New Carnival team, supporting the delivery of our programme of events and workshops. This includes involvement in the upcoming Ryde ‘Merry and Bright Festival of Light’ on Friday, December 6th.

In addition to hands-on experience, Artswork will provide a tailored support programme to enhance the candidate’s future employability skills, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience.
