It may feel as though the kids have only just gone back to school after their long summer holiday, but half term is almost upon us.
We’ll be bringing you details on VB of what you can get up over half term on the Island, but in the meantime, if your kids love dinosaurs, pop this one in your diary.
Dinosaur Isle Museum on Sandown seafront are preparing for the arrival of nine foot tall T-Rex, named Jumbo Dino.
The difference between this one and the rest of the gang of scary dinos down at the council run museum is that Jumbo Dino is a softer, more cuddly version.
We understand that he’s taking a holiday himself from the mainland and will be residing at Dinosaur Isle until Christmas.
Museum Manager, Peter Pusey said “This is a perfect way to introduce local children to the science of dinosaurs.
“After all, the Island is the third most significant place in the world after China and the US for important fossil discoveries.”
If the idea of an oversized cuddly toy is far too pedestrian for your little tear-aways, then perhaps your offspring might fancy ‘A Fright at the Museum’.
This brilliant event takes place at the end of the holidays on Friday 30 October.
It kicks off at 6pm (running until 8.30pm) and costs just £3 for children (aged 3-15), £5 for adults and £14.50 (2+2) for a family of four.
This events is very popular, so make sure you book in advance by calling on 404344.
