During the celebrations of Ventnor and Sandown libraries on Saturday, a new Website supporting the ‘Save The Libraries Campaign’ was launched.
The site, CutsBothWays, is a one-off campaign set up by a number of concerned residents who attended the public meeting about plans to shut down libraries, held at Quay Arts back in January.
Helping facilitate the democratic process
Owned by Daniel Roberts and created by Martin Gibson, the site allows the opportunity for residents to contribute fully to the democratic process by making an online pledge in support of saving the libraries.
The pledge, below, will be passed onto the relevant councillors prior to the full council meeting on 23rd February.
I believe that libraries are an essential part of our communities & must not be closed. If, on Feb 23rd, you vote in favour of the plan to close Island libraries I PLEDGE to actively campaign against your re-election as a councillor.
If you want to take part, simply head over to the CutsBothWays website.
