On Tuesday 17th May, three members of Wightlink-LCM Systems Cycle Race Team travelled to Goodwood race circuit to take part in a crit race.
The race consisted of 12 laps (30 miles) of the motor circuit. Stuart Waite and Matt Allsopp lined up with 50 other riders in the Elite, first and second category race where the pace started high.
A few breaks went up the road, one including Allsopp. They were all reeled back by the group and it came down to a sprint finish, where Waite managed a seventh place and Allsopp finished in the bunch following his earlier efforts.
Dave Cooper lined up in the three quarter cat race, throughout which there were various attacks by riders trying to get away but it all came down to a bunch sprint which followed a crash. In his first race of 2016 Cooper came in with the peloton.
