The creator of the popular and much-loved children’s series, Tales of the Riverbank, passed away on the Isle of Wight yesterday (Thursday).
As well as being the author and creator of the series, Dave Ellison had a long career in television, working as a wildlife film-maker, as well as a war photographer.
A message posted to the Further Tales from the Riverbank Facebook Page read,
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing, on the Isle of Wight, of Dave Ellison, creator of the Tales of the Riverbank genre, on 17th September 2015.
Dave was 87 and will be sorely missed by friends and hamsters all over the world.
Our thoughts are with Dave’s family, friends and fans.
