Six of the Isle of Wight’s most interesting printmakers come together for the aptly entitled “Printmakers” exhibition at Quarr Gallery over the coming coronation Bank Holiday weekend.
Each artist will be showcasing a selection of framed and unframed prints offering a richly crafted exhibition: Rachel Andrews’ nature inspired lino cuts;
Fran Farrar’s personal and thought provoking, copper etchings and collographs (see above); Vicky Fellows’ dynamic collographs and monotypes reflecting the geometric urban environment; Karen Mead’s detailed linos and etchings which explore the narrative around walkers on the seafront between Gurnard to Cowes (see below); Margaret Moore’s evocative monotypes and photo transfer etchings; and Lyndy Moles’ experimental, multidisciplinary work inspired by the natural world.
The Quarr Abbey print exhibition runs over the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend Thursday 4th to Tuesday 9th May, is free to visit and open daily 10am to 4pm (Saturday 1pm-4pm).
The printmakers will be there to chat about their practice and all work will be for sale. There’s plenty of parking and an additional opportunity to visit the grounds, farm shop and cafe of Quarr Abbey.
