Detectives Investigate Robbery Reported In Cowes

A report of robbery in Cowes on the Isle of Wight is prompting an appeal for more witnesses.

A 27-year-old woman from Lancashire was walking with a friend along an alleyway between Milton Road and Stanley Road near the Kingston Arms pub between 6.20pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, August 13, 2011.

She was assaulted by a man who stole her Samsung mobile phone before running away towards Tennyson Road.

The victim was shocked but not hurt in the robbery.

Detectives would like to thank everyone in the local community for their assistance with enquiries so far.

Description of suspect
A possible suspect was described as:

> White
> 5 ft 5 ins tall
> Approximately 16 years old
> Slim build

He was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, and dark trousers.

Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or witnesses who saw a man running in the Tennyson Road area early on Saturday evening (August 13).
