Dinosaur Isle announces exciting Dino Fun Day with a range of engaging activities

Grab your explorer hats and step into a world of prehistoric wonder at Dinosaur Isle in Sandown.

The highly anticipated Dino Fun Day is set to take place on Sunday, 2nd March, from 10am to 4pm. Visitors can look forward to an action-packed event filled with engaging activities and exciting exhibits.

A day of discovery for just £1
Entry to the event is just £1 per person, making it an affordable day out for families, fossil enthusiasts and dinosaur lovers of all ages.

To make things even easier, there will be free car parking available on-site.

Meet Debbie Webb and “Stevie Steg”
One of the highlights of the day is the appearance of Debbie Webb, the author behind the much-loved “Stevie Steg” books.

Debbie’s stories of the adventurous little dinosaur have captivated young readers, and visitors will have the chance to meet her in person.

She will be available to chat, sign books and share insights into her storytelling process.

Foxwell Forensics brings a scientific twist
Visitors can channel their inner detectives with Foxwell Forensics, who will be showcasing their fascinating work.

Attendees can try their hand at unearthing clues and solving mysteries, offering a glimpse into the world of forensic science.

Face painting and classic buses
For those wanting to add some colour to their day, a face painting station will be available.

Guests can transform into their favourite dinosaur or opt for a creative design to take home on their cheek.

The Isle of Wight Bus Museum will also be displaying some of its classic vehicles, providing a nostalgic look at the history of transport on the Island.

Treasure hunting and Island heritage
The Isle of Wight Metal Detectorists will be on hand to share their knowledge of hidden treasures and historical finds.

Visitors can learn about the thrill of metal detecting and even take part in a mini excavation.

The Isle of Wight Heritage Service will also be present, offering insights into the Island’s rich and varied history.

Fossil experts and dinosaur artwork
Palaeontologists from Dinosaur Isle will be available to provide expert advice on the local geology and help visitors with fossil identifications.

Anyone who has discovered an unusual rock or relic is encouraged to bring it along for expert analysis.

Wight Coast Fossils will be showcasing part of their impressive collection, while renowned artist John Sibbick will be exhibiting his detailed dinosaur illustrations.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view his lifelike depictions of prehistoric creatures and even purchase prints to take home.

Colouring competition and prizes
For budding artists, a colouring competition will take place, with prizes up for grabs.

Children and adults alike can unleash their creativity and bring dinosaurs to life with their own unique designs.
