After having to be postponed due to the snow a couple of weekends ago, the Ryde Lantern parade has been reorganised to take place tomorrow (15th).
According to the Carnival Learning Centre’s website, 300 plus hand-made lanterns, two live samba bands and comic spectacle from the Friends of the Carnival Learning Centre all add up to a spectacular and highly entertaining winter parade.
It sets off from Dover Park School at 6pm.
Ventnor parade on Thursday
The following evening (Thursday 16th) sees the return of the annual Ventnor Lantern Parade. A much smaller affair but delightful all the same.
Setting off from the Youth Centre car park in Market Street at 5.45pm, the parade will go around the town and finish at the park for “Carols in the Park” at 6.30pm.
The singing will be lead by Bonchurch Village Singers and Friends and there will be mulled wine, mince pies being offered by the Ventnor Enhancement Fund.
