About three weeks ago, OnTheWight shared with you details of a £13,000 fundraising challenge, to help Islander, Jules Dent, get vital stem cell treatment in Germany. In the last three or four years life, living with Cystic Fibrosis has become much more difficult for Jules and this pioneering treatment could make a huge difference to his quality of life.
Well, just three weeks later and the JustGiving page is showing an amazing £8,463 already raised and Jules tells us another £2k is due to be added in the next few days.
Head to Newport for charity bash
On Friday 4th December, Jules would love you to put your dancing shoes on and head to Zanzibar in Newport to join him and others for a night of great music, dancing and socialising.
The evening is hosted by Sam Woodford as well as Jules, Jamie and Giulio Dent and kicks off at 8pm.
As well as the brilliant Council Estate Super Models, there’ll be a support band (yet to be confirmed) and scratch-master Jakey Chan (always a pleasure to watch perform) will be DJing, playing ghetto funk and huge electro bangers.
All proceeds to the treatment fund
Entry will be £5 and all proceeds will be going into the fundraising post for Jules to get pioneering treatment in Germany.
Jules says,
“Dancing shoes, deodorant and smiles essential.”
How you can help
If you can’t make it along on the night, you can show your support for this lovely guy by popping over to the JustGiving Page set up by Dee Claffery who is running the London Marathon to raise money for Jules.
