Congratulations are in order for all those involved in a recent film produced in partnership with Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
The film, ‘Dying to Know’, was first produced as a theatre play, written by Helen Reading, director of the Red Tie Theatre on the Isle of Wight.
We heard at the weekend that ‘Dying to Know’ has been selected for the Cannes Film Festival.
Intergenerational drama about death
It’s a 30 minute feature – dubbed as an ‘intergenerational drama’ – and highlights the difficulties and benefits of talking about end of life.
It was produced and directed by pFlix Films for Dying Matters and encourages conversations about death and dying.
Following a successful UK stage tour, Dying Matters commissioned a film of the play, starring the original Red Tie Theatre cast.
‘Dying to Know’ will be screened at the Palais des Festivals in May.
