Chief Executive of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, Tina Harris, has confirmed to OnTheWight that 70 jobs at the hospice are currently under review.
The review is part of an ongoing process at the Hospice to ensure that the charity is making best use of its resources.
It wasn’t clear when the review would come to completion, but in the meantime, Tina told OnTheWight,
“I can confirm that this review is part of an ongoing process of development for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, which began about eighteen months ago with a Board Development Programme.
“Staff have been invited to support the review by means of presentations, interviews and broad consultation – and the clear and expressed intention is to make best use of the resource we invest in our people, as is our obligation as a charity.”
Current and future challenges
Tina went on to say the review has had no impact on patient care,
“Job roles have been reviewed and revised in light of current and future challenges, and every effort has been made to ensure that all individuals are treated fairly, and that proposals are made in the best interests of the hospice and patient care.
“Staff have responded very constructively, and have been commended for ensuring that there has been no detrimental impact at all on patient care.
“Around 70 staff are involved in the current phase of the review which focuses on the Resources Directorate, and the process has meant that there are many opportunities for personal development for those wishing to take them.”
We’ll let you know once we hear more.
